Without Composing_n°1

The Without Composing series seeks to loosen the artist’s absolute control over the work, transferring part of its creative agency to invisible and unpredictable natural events. Without Composing_n°1 consists of a matrix of more than one hundred Geiger counters, forming a “sonic net” that intercepts particles moving through the space. As natural background radiation and cosmic rays pass through the installation, they trigger the buzzers, producing continuously changing and unpredictable sounds. The particles are no longer merely sources of data, but nonhuman agents that disrupt—and even co-create—the work.

《Without Composing》系列作品試圖鬆動藝術家對作品的絕對掌控，將部分創作權交予不可見且不可預測的自然事件。作品《Without Composing_n°1》以百餘個蓋革計數器構成矩陣，如一張攔截空間粒子的「聲網」；當天然輻射與宇宙射線穿越裝置，便觸發蜂鳴器，產生持續變化、無法預測的聲響。粒子不再只是數據來源，而成為擾動作品、甚至共同創作的非人行動者。
